Anthony studied a BCom specialising in Business Management for two years, before he decided that
his interests did not lie in that field and he joined the retail industry as an electronics salesman. For
the next four years he continued working as a salesman, and as a bartender at night, in order to make
ends meet. Eventually he made the decision to complete an English teaching course and relocated to
Thailand, to join a completely saturated market, as a foreign English teacher.
During his time in Thailand he developed a passion for the ocean and all that it had to offer.
His newfound passion for the ocean drove him to pursue a career in the yachting industry and he
applied to join the Meridian Adventure Academy. After making it through the pre-selection stage he
started his 21 month cadetship. During his cadetship, Anthony went from having a passion for the
ocean, but not experience, to a becoming a fully qualified, capable and responsible Master of Yachts,
that not only has a passion for the ocean, but also a deep respect and understanding of it.
