Before starting with the Meridian Adventure Academy, Hande was involved in training through a maritime institute, where she was introduced to the theory of the yachting industry. Although she knew the theory, she lacked practical skills and experience, so she joined the Academy as a Deck Cadet. Within a short period of eight months, she progressed to become an experienced and proficient Deckhand.
The program has shown her the importance of striving for perfection in all that she does, not only in her career but also in how she approaches her daily life. She quickly realised how this mindset has improved her quality of life and helped her progress in the industry.
