Before joining the yachting industry, he completed a degree in Social Sciences and a Post Graduate
Diploma in Enterprise Management. He also spent time working in the service and hospitality industry
at a ski resort in Canada. Darryn joined the yachting industry in 2013, and although he had a diverse
background and education, he struggled to progress in the industry until he joined the Meridian
program in 2015.
He started as a Deckhand and progressed to his current position as Fleet Captain of 19 vessels,
spread across the globe. He also manages a large team that offer unrivalled experiences to their
guests in some of the world’s most pristine locations. In addition to this, he has a leading role in the
Meridian Adventure Academy. His growth through the ranks of the yachting industry in such a short
period of time, is a true testimony to the value and importance of a structured education program
backed by practical real-life experience.
